So you’ve written your ebook but what do you do now? How do you market an ebook and make money without spending an arm and a leg? I get this question all of the time. It seems that most people are at a loss when it comes to marketing their product.

The first thing you should do is develop your own affiliate program. With an affiliate program, you make money every time on of your affiliates sells your ebook. The more affiliates you get to join your program, the more money you will make. . In order to attract affiliates, post the information on your product at some of the affiliate directories. You can also recruit affiliates at marketing forums. There are many good affiliate programs out there. Two good affiliate programs are PayDotCom and ClickBank. You can find others by doing a search on your favorite search engine.

You should also consider using a pay-per-click program. Good pay-per-click programs can be found at Google, Yahho, MSN, and MIVA. There are also a number of other smaller players in this field that you can find by doing a search. Some of these smaller players offer good programs that are somewhat cheaper than programs offered by the bigger companies.

Pay-per-click advertising can bring targeted traffic to your website very quickly. However, set a tight budget and monitor your ROI (return on Investment). We’ve all heard the stories of people who spent thousands of dollars on pay-per-click programs and got few, if any sales. Keep a close eye on your budget and make sure that you don’t over-pay for the keywords that you select.

Another successful method to market your ebook is to write articles. With each article you write, include a link to your sales page. Article marketing works extremely well, but you have to submit articles on a regular basis. Writing just one or two a week won’t do you much good. To be really successful, you should write 1 to 5 articles every day. Submit them to the largest directory sites. The largest site is Ezinearticles.

By using the techniques described above, you can kick start your marketing program. And as things get rolling, commit some of your earnings back into additional marketing programs. This has a snowball effect. Before you know it, you’ll be making more money than you know what to do with.

Do you sometimes feel that all your time is focused on dealing with problem employees? In all my years in consulting, working with large organizations and small, I regularly hear this from executives who are totally exasperated by both employee issues and the inability to focus on anything else.

But how do you know when enough is enough? What barometers can you use to determine whether youve hit a wall and need to get some expert help? Heres a quick quiz:

1. When recruiting, are you finding that the people coming through the door are not qualified to do the job?

2. When a new hire starts working, do you sometimes wonder: Is this the same person I interviewed for the job?

3. Are your employees not learning the job as fast as you need them to?

4. Are your supervisors ill equipped to manage their employees?

5. Are you losing top performers because you havent been able to provide them enough challenge?

6. Do you often wonder what the heck your employees are thinking?

7. Do you find that increases in wages do not result in any increase in productivity?

8. Do conducting performance appraisals seem to create more problems than theyre worth?

Thanks to modern medicine getting acne has never been this easy. What earlier used to take weeks or months of hard work can be now achieved in a week. Complex tasks, such as, weakening the immune system are now only few pills away. Antibiotics also do a great job in damaging the liver.

The liver and the immune system are the biggest obstacles in achieving acne. So make sure that antibiotics are on top of your to do list.

We shouldn’t let antibiotics take all the glory. Practically all prescription drugs can be called to help in your quest for pimples and reduced self-esteem.

DIET

Despite the wonders of modern medical science we should not forget the tried and tested methods. Diet is one of your best weapons against good health and clear skin. Unlike antibiotics it doesn’t require any prescriptions. Diet is also cheap to implement, and you can do it at the comfort of your own home.

Here are few important points to keep in mind.

Make sure that you have plenty of meat, white flour products, refined sugar and dairy in your shopping list.

Meat for zits! Meat (the redder the better) is hardly ever completely digested and produces a solid amount of toxic chemicals in the gut. Meat also makes your body more acidic. Acidic body and toxins are just what the doctor ordered for a growing population of acne-causing bacteria. So make sure you don’t miss on meat!

There’s really nothing like sugar to push those pimples out. Luckily for you soft drinks are available everywhere. So try to have few cans a day.

The acne-causing bacteria love sugar. Sugar is quickly turned to ethanol. Ethanol helps to damage the liver and weaken the immune system. It also wipes out the friendly bacteria that stand in the way of your acne.

Bread, pasta, cakes, etc… slow bowel transit times. In other words they keep the food longer in the gut. This means that the bacteria have more time to produce acne-causing toxins. White flour products are also devoid of practically any nutrients that might clear up your skin.

Dairy products are the third dietary weapon against clear skin. Try to use commercial dairy products. They come loaded with hormones and antibiotics that have been fed to dairy cows. I’m sure you remember how important antibiotics are in creating acne - so why no get the double whammy benefit of taking them along with dairy.

Dairy is especially acid forming and the acne-causing bacteria love acidic environment. Another benefit of dairy is that it’s practically impossible to digest after it has been pasteurised and homogenised. It means that it not only putrefies inside you, but it also disturbs digestion of other foods.

Can’t argue with that - so make sure you get your own milk mustache.

In addition to eating certain ’super foods’ there are also other things you can do help your acne. One of them is to eat all types of food at the same meal. If you eat only simple combinations the food might actually digest.

Good digestion = clear skin, and that’s not what we want. So it’s better to make sure that things don’t digest properly. Here the rule is the more the merrier.

Eating late ensures that you have food in your stomach when you go to sleep. Normally during sleep your body would detoxify and clear up the day’s mess. This is no good as it actually prevents acne.

Eat late at night and you actually create new toxins during the night and never give your body time to recover. Talking about another bull’s eye, pimple pushing power tip.

Plus you get the additional benefit of not being able to sleep properly and wake up tired the next morning.

Don’t sleep for more than 6 hours a day. During sleep your body actually recovers and does the maintenance chores. Those things are like poison for acne. So sleep as little as possible, and if you have to sleep, try to eat late to minimise the damage.

Don’t fall into the folly of physical exercise. Exercise strengthens your immune system, oxidises blood stream (oxygen is poison for acne-causing bacteria), fights off stress and generally makes you feel better. I’m sure you can see how that might prevent acne.

Moral of the story? Park your butt on the sofa and keep it there.

OK, so let’s put it all together now. The formula for a skin full of beautiful, red and white pimples is

Antibiotics + proper diet + plenty of stress + max 6 hours of sleep day + no physical exercise = acne, poor health and lack of energy

Despite all the trendy rhetoric about the importance of people, leadership, and values, far too many managers treat people in their organizations with about as much care and concern as so many numbers on a financial statement. They are just one more set of assets to be managed. These just happen to have skin wrapped around them. Phrases like “head count” dehumanize and objectify people. That’s how we talked about cattle on the farm where I grew up. And that’s exactly how too many managers view “their people.”

This thinly disguised contempt most clearly shows up when managers jump into layoffs and downsizing as a first, rather than last step, when facing the need to cut costs. The airline industry provides a revealing study in contrasts and leadership. Following the steep drop in air travel after September 11, more than 100,000 people in the industry were laid off in North America. But in keeping with their no-layoffs pledge, Dallas-based Southwest Airlines didn’t downsize anyone. To help the company weather the tough times, employees, on their own, initiated a program they called “Pledge to LUV” (the company’s stock symbol). They voluntarily gave up hours and days of paid time to help the company reduce costs and avoid layoffs.

Over the last decade numerous studies have shown that “dumbsizing” sometimes provides short-term relief and protects shortsighted manager’s bonuses while hurting companies in the long-term:

An American Management Association study in 1996 found that fewer than half of the firms that downsized subsequently increased their profits, and only a third reported higher productivity.

The Wall Street Journal reported that downsizing companies outperform the Standard & Poor’s 500 list only slightly during the six months following news of a restructuring, then lag badly, with their stock down 24 per cent by the end of three years.

A Mercer Management Consulting study, tracking the performance of 800 companies between 1987 and 1992, found that of the 120 that cut costs during the last recession, only one in three achieved profitable revenue growth during the five years that followed.

As Don Cherry might say, it sure ain’t rocket surgery. Downsizing hurts morale and productivity. Falling sales decline further, customer service slips, and quality drops. Absenteeism goes up and accidents increase as stress, insecurity, and resentment grows.

Since tenure rather than performance usually determines who goes and who stays, the worst supervisors and managers stay behind and add to the misery index. The high performers who weren’t downsized jump ship and further weaken the organization. This growing leadership vacuum accelerates feelings of hopelessness.

Mass layoffs are always a very last, desperate step for organizations with strong leaders who truly care about people. At the center of this rare leadership are core values around partnership and participation. Organizational members aren’t “heads,” “warm bodies,” or “human resources” to be acquired and disposed of like assets on a balance sheet.

High performing organizations manage things and lead people. That means working together when the financial heat is on to reduce costs through initiatives such as cross-the-board salary reductions, with the deepest percentage cuts going to senior management. (They made most of the decisions that created this problem.)

Other initiatives include reduced workweeks or hours or offering leaves of absences, either unpaid or at a fraction of salary. Voluntary sabbaticals can also save a company money, as do the reduction of executive perks.

Other efforts include:

Redeploying people to revenue building positions

Offering early retirement or voluntary separation packages

Identifying and removing underperforming supervisors and managers, especially those with weak people leadership skills

Work sharing

Not replacing people who leave on their own or retire

Redeploying or lending staff to clients or external partners

Shared ownership or equity in exchange for salary reductions

Involving people in identifying unnecessary costs, waste, and errors that could be reduced or eliminated

All of these approaches require courageous, visible, face-to-face leadership. Successfully leading in tough times calls for openness, clearly outlining the difficult situation, expressing your own pain, and providing cost reduction guidelines. Through surveys, meetings, e-mail polling, “town halls,” and the like, managers facilitate brainstorming, get input, set priorities, and make joint decisions and action plans. Then communicate - you can’t tell people too much about what’s going on and why.

Sam Walton built Bentonville, Ark.-based Wal-Mart into the world’s largest retailer through treating staff as respected partners. One of his legacies was to “treat them as partners and they will treat you as a partner and together you will all perform beyond your wildest expectations.”

Forming respectful partnerships that let staff participate is not the cowardly acts of managers in closed meetings who hide behind press releases and get external consultants or the HR department to the dirty work of firing people. If this sounds like a lot of hard, agonizing work, it is. Managing can be tough, but leadership takes real courage. The research clearly shows you can pay the price now or pay a much bigger price later.

Someone has emailed you that they are interested in your work. Or, you have a list of potential contacts from your leads group. Or maybe you’re thinking about someone you want to cold-call, because they could really use what you are offering.

You are headed towards a conversation, which will end, you hope, with the other person saying “Yes, I’m buying!”

These conversations can be very painful, because they end, more often than not, with an “Ummm…. I’ll think about it.” I think the pain of this conversation ranks right up there with bone marrow transplants. Well, maybe not that bad. But, Lord it ain’t good.

The pain of these conversations goes beyond awkwardness. It’s so bad, because you really do want to help and be of service. I know I do. When I’m left feeling as if I’m bothering someone, I just want to quit. I didn’t get into business to bother people- and if that’s what I’m doing, I’ll go back to being a paramedic.

This October, 2005, contains an extraordinary spiritual double-header. Ramadan, the holy month of fasting for Muslims, began at the same time as Rosh Hashonah, the Jewish New Year. Rosh Hashonah leads into the Days of Awe, ending with the fasting on Yom Kippur. Ramadan and the Days of Awe have the same spiritual purpose of internal purification.

Both Ramadan and Yom Kippur have an amazing process. It’s called “fasting.” Fasting is the process of abstaining. Abstaining from food, yes, but more than that. It’s also an abstention from judgement, from “impure thoughts,” from anything that fosters disconnection from your heart and from Spirit.

What do these holidays have to do with sales? The reason sales conversations are so awkward, is because there is an inherent inequality. Your prospect has a problem, and you have a solution. This puts you in a “superior” position.

And, the other side of the coin is that your prospect has money to pay you, and you don’t have that money. This puts her (or him) in a “superior” position.

If you choose to be superior, they will choose to be superior, too. And, you end up butting heads. “I’ve got the answer!” “I’ve got the money!” And both of you trying to be superior, means everyone loses.

Take your cue from these Days of Awe- empty yourself. Have as close to “nothing” inside as possible. Abstain from superiority. Abstain from inferiority. The “nothing” of being empty, means that you have space to receive who your prospect truly is. You become the glass that can be filled, and your prospect can feel truly received. Connection: the first step in a successful sales conversation.

How do you empty, and then connect?

Keys to Connection

* Emptying yourself is an internal process, and it’s best to do it before the conversation. One way to do it is to take a sheet of paper and list all of the thoughts, beliefs, and “voices” you hear about the conversation or the other person. “Why would a big company want to hire a pipsqueak consultant like me?” “She doesn’t like me.” “I charge too much.” List all of these down, and take time noticing how they make you feel.

Make space for the emotions. And then bring in the Remembrance or other heart-centering practice, and turn all of these beliefs over to the Divine.

* Take some time to connect your heart to the Divine. Let yourself feel your neediness for the sale, your neediness for approval, your neediness for love, and bring it all to your heart.

These are legitimate needs. The problem is, your prospect won’t be able to fulfill them. Instead, let your heart fulfill them directly through your spiritual connection.

* Bow in service. If you really are here to help, then take a moment and let yourself bow to this person you’ll be speaking to. Dedicate yourself to only helping them, only caring about what’s best for them.

You will need to be humble here, because the best thing for them might be to let the sale go. And, the best thing for them might be for them to buy your most expensive, most premium product or service, because that’s what they really need.

It takes humility to do that.

Homeschooling is one alternative that is becoming really popular these days, growing at about seven to 15 percent every year since it has broken ground several years ago. To date, there are about two million children undergoing the program.

Although there have been arguments against it, children who have undergone the program actually do well on standardized tests and even do well in college and universities. They are even commended for their abilities to learn on their own through college and independence when they eventually join the work force. Of course, this also depends on the learner and the kind of training that they provide. Below are some of the advantages of homeschooling:

Flexible and dynamic programs

Freedom is perhaps at the heart of the homeschool program. Children are allowed to set their own pace in learning the lessons. There are no time pressures to learn a certain task or to keep up with other people. The lessons can also be tailorfitted to the needs of the children.

For instance, if they are already good in Math and may need some work in English, the program can incorporate more time with English lessons and less with Math. The secret to the success of the homeschooling program is the flexibility and dynamism that it offers to students. It takes into account the learning pace of the child, their abilities and even their learning style.

No fix schedule

Because the program is done at home with parents as teachers, there is no need for a fix time schedule. This does not however mean that they wont learn the discipline of rising early in bed and adhering to a time-schedule. In homeschooling, lessons may start at a specific time but it may end whenever the child is through. For instance, if the child is able to breeze through the lessons fast, he or she can relax on the remaining time. There is no need to stay in the class and study.

Paper Shredding Business Opportunities are blossoming up everywhere because in recent years, privacy concerns and new policies have forced companies all over the country to invest in paper shredding services. Large corporations and small are in need of shredding services.

Even in many homes, people have purchased small, trash can sized paper shredders for mail and receipts. Most businesses will not be able to shred the material they have by purchasing one of these same machines. First, the small machines are not capable of the volume. Things to consider when thinking about a paper shredding business will depend on what type of service you wish to offer. Having a fixed location where people can bring their records to you for destruction is one idea. However, it is worth considering purchasing a mobile shredding unit in addition to this or even as the sole business operation. Mobile paper shredding will allow you to be even more flexible to your clients needs.

The demand in this industry will only be growing in the coming years as laws and policies change. It is clear that this is a growing enterprise. Always use text links instead of images because search engines cannot read images. If you must use an image use alternative text option to define the image with the correct keywords.
